Network Marketing Business Prospecting – An Ongoing Activity
Okay. They have taught you how to go out and prospect at the last network marketing seminar. But there is something that you may find hard to believe. You have already been trained to prospect your entire life! You do it every day without knowing it.
The word “prospecting” is congruent with “mining, searching, seeking, and hunting.” If you ever went job hunting, bought a house, gone shopping at the local supermarket, or searched for your significant other at an online dating website, then you have in fact engaged in prospecting. For instance, if you were to break down the process of prospecting when shopping for a car, it may resemble something like the following scenario:
- You have identified what you want. You were clear about your intent. Then, you finally found what you were searching.
- You found the right people who could provide the information you needed to make an educated decision to buy or not. Perhaps you asked the people several questions to determine if the car fit your needs.
- Finally, if all your requirements were satisfied, you move to make a purchase.
The only thing that is different between this scenario and prospecting for new distributors for your online MLM business is this. At the end of the process, it would be your prospect that would move to make a purchase rather than you. Outside of this, the entire scenario is really the same. It applies not only to offline network marketing but also online network marketing.
Keep that in mind when you contact your prospects via e-mail, telephone, snail mail, or whatever for your online network marketing business. Prospecting is an ongoing event that never stops.
Once you master the skill of prospecting, you can master network marketing with just about any company you choose to be with.
