First, you need to determine the keywords that you are going to use. Keywords are the words that internet users put in the search box at the search engines in order to find your website. To find out the number of searches that a keyword receives within a month, you can use Google’s keyword tool. A word with over one hundred search a month is good enough. You should try searching for some of these kinds of words. The next thing to do is to check Google to find out the competition. Use quotes when searching the keywords. The amount of search results will show the number of other websites that will be your competitor. In this case, smaller number is better. Look at the PR of the websites on page 1, and calculate the average of the number. You can use an add-on for Firefox to do this. If you find that all of the PR are less than 4 on average, then it should be quite easy to get your website appear on page 1 to gain search engine traffic and earn money online. Create a list of the keywords that you choose, and use the keywords to build your website’s content.

With the keywords, you can build some sort of network that consists of unique contents with links attached to the keywords. Linking the pages together will form something called link wheel. You can form link wheel by putting a link in each web page to the next page of the content plus another link to the main page. By doing this, all of the pages are linked to one another and to the website. You do not use reciprocal for this.

Take advantage of social bookmarking websites to get back links for your website. However, you have to make sure that the websites are do-follow. You can also use a Firefox add-on in order to know whether the links are do-follow or not. Do-follow means when the search engine crawl a website the crawler will follow the link and use the link in determining PR. You must not get too many back links at once because this will not look normal to the search engines. Websites with unnatural back links will get penalized and can get caught in sandbox.

Another way to obtain back links and visitors is by posting on community forums and blog commenting. When you post on a community forum, you should find a thread with only few replies. Try to answer the questions there, and put a link to your website for more explanations. You have to be sure that you are posting useful information or you might get banned from the forum for spamming.
